Dubai Air Show Comes To And End But Not After $54.5 Billion In Deals

Dubai Air Show wraps up with $54.5b in deals

All good things must come to an end. The 2019 Dubai Air Show #DAS19 is no exception. In addition to record attendance and state of art aviation technology on display, there were $54.5 billion in deals secured. The 2019 total sales were less that half of the $113.8 billion in deals signed at the 2017 Air Show.

Emirates and Air Arabia accounted for 71% of the deals totaling $38.8 billion with Emirates ordering $24.8 billion and Air Arabia $14 billion.

Emirates inked deals with both Airbus and Boeing for a combine total of 80 aircraft.

  • Emirates deal with Airbus was $16 billion for 50 A350-900 aircraft, and replaced an order in February for 30 A350’s
  • Boeing’s deal was $8.8 billion for 39 787-9 Dreamliners

Additionally, Sharjah-based Air Arabia signed a multi-billion dollar deal with Airbus for 120 aircraft.

This year’s Dubai Air Show comprised of 1,288 exhibitors, 161 aircraft on static display and 84,043 trade attendees.
