Swiss International Air Lines, SWISS will start using the new Daxing International Airport for flights between Zurich and Beijing in March. The move will also provide better departure and arrival times for travelers on the route. Currently SWISS uses Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) in Beijing.
The eastbound route will depart Zurich late in the afternoon and arrive in Beijing just after 09:00 on the following day. While westbound route will depart from Beijing at 11:00 and arrive in Zurich at 15:35 on the same day.
SWISS currently serves Beijing daily in the summer, and five times weekly in winter operating Airbus A330’s.
Designed by architect Zaha Hadid, the new Beijing Daxing International Airport is located south of the city and was opened last fall. The new facility has ultra modern state-of-the-art features and is linked into the public transport system. Beijing Daxing International Airport is set to become one of the world’s busiest by 2025.
